One of our members summoned a contest, and requested me to feature her contest in this club. Take note though! This is
NOT a contest held by this club. I'm just featuring this contest.
Contest Info:
[link]I don't actually know why, but I want to post some tips here that might enable you to win the contest.

I've got some examples too. 8D

The contest host
REQUIRES for you to MIMICK TETSUYA NOMURA'S ART-STYLE. I don't think he/she cares about how fail attempt it is, as long as Nomura's style is noticeably present and is obvious that you at least tried mimicking his drawing style. lD

This is a
concept art contest. Take note of the word "concept art". Concept arts are drawings that are drawn just for the sake of design comparisons, possible final design of something, etc. So make sure not to put full effort to your entry.

Concept arts are usually, well, USUALLY (not always) drawn on paper, so, having a scanner is recommended. BUT, there are also concept arts that are drawn digitally, just like these:
[link] [link] If you've got quite a large screen though, go ahead and draw stuff digitally on a canvas as big as a bond paper like this:
[link]Crud, why am I advertising!??

Concept arts can either be a transformation of a character design like this:
[link] , a group of expressions of a character, different views of a character, a group of drawings of a character wearing his/her different attires, or a group of a few drawings featuring a character doing some stuff. These are usually drawn in groups in one canvas.

Concept arts are usually just a bunch of sketches, though they are sometimes inked. They usually don't have colors. Some are colored yes, but only with either just the base colors or with simple cell-shading. Concepts are
INKED BY HAND. Avoid using those straight-and-curve tools! Avoid inking with one pixel brush size too. lD
DO NOT COLOR IF DONE ON PAPER. Go color it digitally, not traditionally.

Some concept arts got some text saying this and that, and then an arrow linking the text to the part being described is usually present. 8D Let's use Naminé as example. There are yellow flower design on her light blue sandals right? So there could be some small text saying "3 yellow flower designs here" and then there's an arrow linking the text to the yellow-colored scribbles on her sandals.
DO NOT TYPE THE TEXT, WRITE IT.

Drawing the character full-body is recommended only if you're drawing him/her in different views.

Signatures should only be written.
DO NOT TYPE. And keep them small.

Lastly...
KEEP THE BACKGROUND WHITE. Concept art with background? Yikes! @_@ If drawing a character doing something, light colors as background can be used, but make sure not to fill the whole canvas with that light color. Make sure that only the drawing featuring a character doing something that used up the majority of the space in the canvas should be the only one having a background if you want some BG. Also, if you're going to put a background, make sure that the drawing itself is also colored.
Thanks for reading!
